What is Interlibrary Loan?
Interlibrary Loan is a service in which items that your local library does not own may be requested and borrowed from another library. Upon approval of the request, the item(s) will be shipped free of charge to your local library for you to pick-up. The Canyon Area Library provides this service to Canyon cardholders in good standing only. Currently, Interlibrary Loans are available for books, audio books, VHS, DVD’s and CD's.
How to Apply
Apply for an Interlibrary Loan by filling out a request form and turning your application in to us at the front desk. Find our address here. There is also the ILL Navigator link, which will create a request through your computer. Contact us should you have questions.
Patrons are responsible for:
Requests for New Materials
- All fees or charges when the item is not picked up by the patron
- All fees or charges for overdue, damaged, or lost material
- Presenting a current library card in good standing when ordering interlibrary loan materials
- Up to no more than five requests at one time
Requests for new materials are not frequently honored. Libraries begin to lend materials after their patrons have had first access. Therefore, please request materials older than eight months.
