3D Printer
How It Works

1) Contact us about using the 3D printer and we'll put your name on the list.
2) Download Cura software to a compatible device. It is recommended to download to a computer so a mouse can be used.
3) Find a design you want to print. You can find pre-made models or make your own (view suggested websites below).
4) Download the model to the Cura software where you can change it as needed. Note that the size of models is limited to the dimensions of the printer.
5) Save the file of the model to an SD card in an STL format. Many models are already in this format but if it's not, the Cura software will convert it.
6) Bring your SD card to the Library where a staff member will view the print model for approval.
7) Upon approval, you can pay for your print. We'll enter it into the machine and let you know when it's ready for pick-up!

We understand that using a 3D printer can seem challenging at first but if you prefer to do this process with a staff member at the Library between M-F 10a-6p, stop by and we'll be glad to help you!

Pricing

Pricing for prints can vary but we typically charge according to how much material is used to make the print as well as length of time of the print. The following formula is used:

.03m + .04min = $

where m (meter) is the material and min (minute) the length.
