Due to Covid-19 Governor Greg Abbott has placed several operational requirements on all waterparks in the State of Texas. One of the requirements is associated with the capacity at which a waterpark may operate. At this time the Canyon Aqua Park capacity has been significantly lowered.
In order to allow as many guests as possible to enjoy the CAP we will now operate two sessions each day Monday through Saturday. The first session will operate from 12 – 3 pm. The facility will undergo additional cleaning and the second session will then operate from 4 – 7 pm.
Sunday’s first session will operate from 1 – 4 pm and the second session will operate from 5 – 8 pm.
Admission tickets will only be available online. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase tickets online 48 hours prior to the session that they would like to attend. Guests will present a printed receipt or an electronic device displaying their ticket in order to be admitted to the CAP.
Tickets will be sold separately for each session and will be $5 for a General Admission ticket. Senior (65+) tickets will be $3. Ticket holders will need ID at the entrance. Children under three will not need to purchase a ticket and will be admitted with a ticketed adult.
Due to the limited number of tickets that will be sold each day for the two sessions at the CAP, we will not be issuing refunds on any tickets purchased. Rainchecks will be issued based on the raincheck policy.
2020 CAP Opening Procedures
COVID-19 has made it a challenge this year to think about opening the CAP. We uphold the safety of our employees and patrons in the highest regard. With that in mind, we have new procedures in place to keep all who enter our gates safe. They are as follows:
We will have 2 sessions daily 12:00-3:00 & 4:00-7:00 Mon-Sat. Sun: 1:00-4:00 & 5:00-8:00. We will be clearing the park between sessions to allow staff to sanitize all areas of the park.
Each ticket purchased will allow the holder to visit the session selected only. You will have to purchase 2 tickets if you wish to attend both sessions on the same day.
New temporary admission prices will be $5.00 General Admissions, $3 Senior Admissions (65), and children 3 and under will be free.
ALL tickets will be purchased online to prevent any lines from forming at ticket windows. Tickets will be available 48 hours before session times at www.canyontx.com. No sales of tickets will be allowed as a walk-up patron. You must establish an account before being allowed to purchase a ticket. Walk-up customers may be able to purchase tickets online from their mobile device if tickets are still available at that time.
Tickets will go on sale 48 hours prior to each session at 12 pm for the 12-3 pm session and at 4 pm for the 4-7 pm session.
All social distancing guidelines must be followed while entering the CAP and purchasing from the concession.
Masks are preferred but not mandatory for guests. All employees will be wearing masks and gloves where required.
Life jackets will be available and sanitized after every use.
Staff will be cleaning the restrooms and high touch areas on a regular basis.
Hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the park.
No tubes or flotation devices will be allowed in the lazy river.
No outside food is allowed. This season we will allow 1 unopened bottled of water per person. No coolers allowed.
Usual CAP rules will be in effect.
No Birthday parties or after-hour rentals.
There is a 6 ticket limit on each ticket transaction.
Guests will provide a printed ticket at the gate and staff will scan this before being admitted.
Occupancy will remain at 25% total capacity until Gov. Abbott allows waterparks to operate at 50%. We will sell a limited number of tickets for each session based on our allowed occupancy and our ability to meet mandated guidelines. If a session is sold out, you may be able to buy tickets for the next session.
All bags will be inspected upon entry to the CAP. Our employees will not open your bag, but you will be asked to allow CAP employees to examine the contents of the bag.
Loungers will be strategically stationed around the park to allow guests to maintain social distancing. Please do not move the loungers.
Any groups not maintaining social distancing requirements will be asked to do so while enjoying the CAP.
No basketball allowed in the Lap Pool.
Social Distancing must be maintained while in line for the slides. Every other step will be used with lines on each side of the stairway for the slide you want to ride. Social distancing shall be observed while lining up for diving boards also.
Pavilion rentals will not be allowed this year.
All of these rules are subject to change as restrictions are lifted and for operational reasons.
